Abstain - “No Innocence”
Abstain is an excellent San Diego straight edge hardcore band with a killer live show. We’ve seen them open for acts like Take Offense, Mindforce, and Combust in recent years, and they have a growing discography that includes an EP and a handful of savage DIY singles. Now, the group is ramping up to release their new album for those who still remain… on Sept. 26 via Long Beach-based label Willmore Records and Rhode Island’s Physical Therapy. We’ve already heard one track that’s on it, the anthemic “Straight Edge Pride,” and now they’re offering another new taste with the latest cutthroat single “No Innocence.”
“No Innocence” packs incendiary riffage, pummeling drums, and throat-shattering vocals that all burn with lyrical and instrumental fire and fury. This one is locked and loaded with more metallic breakdowns, with shifting time signatures keeping listeners on their toes (and perhaps jumping off the ground and spin-kicking) from start-to-finish. Another explosive single that whets the appetite for the full album. You can keep tabs on how to listen/purchase for those who still remain when it drops HERE, and go ahead and head-bang to “No Innocence” below.
