Two Headed Girl - ‘Broken Glass Planet’ EP

Two Headed Girl is one of our absolute favorite San Diego-based DIY bands; we’ve been blasting their single “Snowglobe” on repeat ever since it dropped earlier this spring. We’re now thrilled to have more new music from them in the form of the Broken Glass Planet EP, which dropped this past week and comprises a few new tracks in addition to the aforementioned “Snowglobe” as well as the previously-released “Dry Shampoo.”

Comprised of singer-guitarist CJ Fischer, drummer Tommy English, and bassist Alyson Valdez, Two Headed Girl continue to perfect their catchy brand of garage-y pop-punk on Broken Glass Planet - a reference to a lyric from “Snowglobe” in which Fischer declares she “wants to make the glass crack.” While that track leads off the record, it’s followed by the synth-tinged “Fall Apart, Fall Into Place.” Here, Fischer’s poised and assured vocals steer a swirl of snappy riffs and pulsating rhythms, with nursery-rhyme type lyrics punctuating the chorus in fiery, bit-crushed fashion. “She Goes Insane (In Her Bedroom)” is a buoyant, anthemic ‘90s-style indie/pop-punk ripper that ebbs and flows between soaring choruses and poignant verses with throttling intensity. The record’s other brand new track, “23,” skitters and propels through breakneck riffs and percussion - certain to induce plenty of moshpits. All in all, Broken Glass Planet is another impressive step for Two Headed Girl as they continue their ascent. Feel free to give the whole thing a spin below.

In addition, Two Headed Girl has tour dates on the horizon, including a pair of dates here in SD. Check out those stops below and go see them when you can!
