Geordie Greep @ Quartyard

Geordie Greep, the mercurial jazz and prog purveyor - and former frontman of avant-rockers Black Midi - performed a thrilling set of material off The New Sound, his excellent debut solo album released last year. Featuring a tight backing band who seemed to be in telepathic form, the English musician had a sold-out crowd at Quartyard bouncing and swaying to his frantic, energetic tunes. He and his band kept pace with radical momentum-shifting detours and jammy improv energy as fans in downtown San Diego swooned.
