Chorduroy - “Vampiress”

Chorduroy is a San Diego garage-psych band that’s been lighting up the local airwaves the last few years via a handful of awesome singles as well as last year’s promising debut album Voice of Reason. Their laid-back but no less propulsive style - a mix of vintage garage, psychedelic, and alt rock - continues to excite with each new release, including their latest brand new single “Vampiress.”

The first of two singles recorded last month at Earthling Studios, “Vampiress” contains anthemic, simmering guitar melodies and pummeling drums kicking into overdrive - a haze-filled nostalgia-filled groover that slithers from ominous verses to high-flying choruses with ease. It’s another assured, catchy, steady ripper from the quartet, who continue to ride their hot streak right in time for Spooky Season. According to their Instagram, they’re also hard at work on a concept album, though clearly, that’s not stopping them from dropping a few loosies here and there. Feel free to give “Vampiress” a spin below, and make sure to catch Chorduroy at their show at Tower Bar on January 7!
