Little Heroine - “Smash”

Little Heroine is a San Diego band that conjures bluesy, grungy, propulsive garage punk with defiant swagger, recalling such golden age indie sleaze era groups like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Datsuns. The group has a been around for a while; their self-titled debut LP dropped all the way back in 2014, but they’ve remained somewhat busy since - releasing a string of singles and EPs with all roads leading to here. Now, they’re gearing up to release their long-gestating sophomore album To Have or to Be?

They’ve also recently shared a new single off that record, the aptly-titled “Smash,” and it’s a banger. A throttling opening bassline gives way to rollicking guitars, pulsating rhythms, and effusive vocals that’ll have listeners dancing and thrashing around in equal measure. Furthermore, Little Heroine is set to perform a record release show on October 11 at The Banshee along with fellow locals Omo Cloud. You can check out more information on that show HERE.
