The Radio Addicts - “Scroll My Life Away”

The Radio Addicts are a four-piece DIY band from Bolton, UK comprised of literal children - singer-guitarist Luke (14), lead guitarist Daniel (14), drummer Vincent (12), and bassist Jonathan (11) - who boldly mix jangly punk, power pop, and Britpop tones with a tight mastery well beyond their years. Think The Buzzcocks meets Ash.

The group has now released their debut single “Scroll My Life Away,” a catchy ripper full of rollicking old school pop punk riffage, steady rhythms, and youthful angst. The track bemoans the time wasted while scrolling away and brain rotting through your phone screen. It’s quite the introduction that I’m sure will earn them some more fans as they break out of their local DIY scene.
